RCB Update – 15 October 2024

Further to our last Update (3 October 2024), our Team (Ray Fulcher, Stan Hannaford, Graeme Mickelberg, Peter Kelly and Sean Arthur) met with Minister Keogh by invitation on 10 October 2024 at Parliament House Canberra. Unfortunately, the meeting was interrupted by the bells ringing to summon all MPs to a division in the House of Representatives.

Our discussions are continuing.

  2. Are the discussions going to include the awarding of Pingasat medal presented to other veterans?.

    • Paul,
Not these discussions, but if warlike service is approved then that opens up the Aust Government recommending it to the Malaysian Government for their approval.

  4. These Ministers are slyer than an Alley Cat, with never being able to fulfil the scheduled meeting time or length of meeting agreed to due to some unforeseen circumstance or event, which the Minister is ‘ushered away’ by their Secretary and/or Chief of Staff. Why can they not schedule a Meeting that is Free of surrounding obligations so as to allow for a proper and truthful discourse of issues at hand……it stinks of ‘skullduggery’.

  7. So are we entiteled to the ASM 75+ for non warlike o/s service ???

    • The ASM 75+ is for 28 days service in Malaysia, not only Butterworth from 14 Feb 1975 – 30 Dec 1989 .

All service ( 28 days plus ) at Butterworth/Malaya/Malaysia, pre-14 Feb 1975 attracts the ASM 1945/75 Clasp SE Asia.

Can’t have both ASM’s with clasp SE Asia.
